Guide to making distinct paths (and not making the town look hideous) for Animal crossing: City Folk?

I know that you have to go down a certain path for a week or so before you faintly see a dirt path, but is there a guide? Because in the process of this, you dont know where your path is because its so faint. So you start making ugly dirt patches, making your town look hideous. And it will take ages for it to grow back.Guide to making distinct paths (and not making the town look hideous) for Animal crossing: City Folk?
I have made my own path by placing a design on the ground. I created a design that looks like cobblestones. then instead of wearing it as a shirt, umbrella, or hat, you choose display on ground. It looks nice and no more running over flowers! :)Guide to making distinct paths (and not making the town look hideous) for Animal crossing: City Folk?
I don't know about a guide to the paths, but I know that paths have come up where I or my son's characters don't typically go. Supposedly the animals don't make paths, but I gotta wonder. If the area has a lot of trees and flowers, the grass grows back sooner, according to an interview I read.

I always run the same routes so I won't get lost, so the paths are starting to look good now. I cut down some trees in the paths, and planted some to line the paths I wanted.
